Esterbrook Model H Grey Bandless - 1555 Gregg Nib (2019-0412-08)
Esterbrook model H in grey, bandless model ca. 1942. For a short period of time, Esterbrook manufactured pens with no cap bands and cheaper metal trim and levers during the war. This resulted in a "bandless" design with grooves cut into the cap to simulate cap bands, and trim that brassed and rused easily. It is not uncommon to find pens with different shades of cap than the barrel, as this particular pen exhibits. Barrel is correct for the pen. 1555 Gregg nib writes more like a medium point. Very hard to find in the H short demi size. Lever filler that only fills from the bottle. Fully restored and ready to write.
