J. Herbin 1670 Anniversary Ink Storm Grey
Handsome bottle, excellent ink. Dries to a blue - grey of a stormy night. I don't have the best paper
but saw no feathering. This ink looks classy and
very professional. I like it very much.
This 50ml glass bottle Jacques Herbin 1670 Anniversary Stormy Grey fountain pen ink comes in a gorgeous bottle with a wax seal, worthy of this unique ink. This deep charcoal grey ink has gold pigment particles suspended in it, achieving the sheen that is raved about by so many users. Jacques Herbin does include a fairly strict warning on the box, letting users know to clean out this highly saturated ink from your pen on a regular basis, but the ink is safe for fountain pens. The gold particles settle out of suspension fairly quickly, and these particles can be seen on the bottom of the bottle. The ink, and your pen, should be gently agitated before and occasionally during use.

Fiance was very pleased to receive this as a gift. It was delivered in a timely manner and packed very well. He loves the way the ink looks on paper. I guess the only downside is that he's worried about using it in his Visconti because of how quickly it dries in the ink well. Other than that, great ink!
Wonderful service wonderful product! It seems like I got my Herbin Anniversary Ink immediately after ordering it online. It was wonderful to be able to put in a request to be notified when the back order came in. I am a very happy customer
This is one of the neatest inks I have so far, about 8 colors.
Service was excellent as usual with Anderson normal quick delivery
You need to be fairly careful which pens you choose to use this ink in, as the gold particles *can* disrupt its flow - but in a free flowing pen with a generous ink channel, the results are amazing: grey-to-almost-black, with a golden shimmer throughout.
The ink flows extremely well and even without the stunning gold affect, the overall color quality alone of the grey ink against white and or off white paper, is quite eye catching.
Love this new ink, it is very sparkly and dries amazingly - everybody loves it! Nice black/grey that will set you apart from the crowd of regular blacks and greys...
This ink is the epitome of class and elegance. The gold flakes add a fantastic flair to one's writing. Use dip pen for best effect.
What a fun ink!
I really enjoyed writing with this. It's a bit special, and certainly popular judging by how difficult it is to get hold of. Anderson's had it in stock for a few minutes - and their email alert system worked well - so thanks for setting that up Brian and Lisa - I appreciate it.
Back to the ink - believe the warning on the bottle! It says "highly saturated" and it is - but more than that they mean it's got pigment particles that are "gold" (in appearance only I presume). They advise to not let this pen sit in a pen. And that's good advice. I've only put it in pens I can fully disassemble and clean - immediately after a writing session.
However don't let that put you off. This is a beautiful ink with fantastic shading properties and that gold shimmer.
Ink up your broad and italic nibs and have some fun!
I love J. Herbin Gris Nuage in my Stipuls Etruria Ambra 991, and while this is darker it has great shading and the gold sheen looks great with a wet, expressive nib. Thank you, Anderson pens!
