Description This Namiki Chinkin fountain pen in the Cherry Blossom design was created by a collaboration of maki-e artists (Kokkokai) in Japan. The Namiki Chinkin Pen Collection is made up of fountain pens which use Chinkin (Gold Inlay) a lacquer-ware technique that Japan boasts is on par with Maki-e. Motifs are carved into the lacquered surface with special chisels, then lacquer is inlaid into the grooves, and strategically placed gold leaves and gold powder gives the pattern expression.
