British theatre designer Alec Shanks made his name working in Paris at the famed Folies-Bergère cabaret. His drawing that inspired this cover artwork, created in 1932 using charcoal, watercolour and gouache on paper, was originally designed for the revue “Nuits de Folies.” Paperblanks journals are made in China.
