Classy, elegant and aestetically perfect
I bought two Penlux'es: Black and Cloud Bay. Craftsmanship of both is very good. Plunger threads and cap threads are polished so there is no sharp edges, twists smoothly and gives you this Montblanc 149 sound and feel. Feels a bit heavier than 149, but I like fountain pens with weight - it does make balancing pen more natural when you write.
Nib is smooth, does not skip, good ink flow even if you are fast writer. Can write fast, but does not leave any smudges or leaks - flow is just enough.
I bought Fine nib and it does not scratch my Rhodia notepads. If I need even a finer line for footnotes and side notes I can flip the nib upside down with feeder up and it still writes with even finer line.
Deep black lacquer stands out on average black objects like leather or your shirt fabric, so you can see that your pen is even darker and does not sine like a cheap plastic.
Design is minimalistic, but aesthetically complete. If you want to set your Montblanc 149 aside for special ocasions this Penlux can equally be your daily workhorse.
