The Homo Sapiens fountain pen in Magma is handmade from hardened basaltic lava sourced from the Mount Etna volcano in Italy, with red metal trim, and it features a ruthenium-plated oversized 18kt gold nib to match the trim color. Visconti lava is virtually unbreakable, comfortable and warm to the touch - and slightly hygroscopic, absorbing moisture from your hand. The basaltic lava is mixed with resin to create this pen.

The fountain pen caps by using the Visconti 'Hook Safe Lock', a revolutionary capping system so you can cap a pen without worrying about the cap accidentally unscrewing in your pocket or pen case, and leaking. The vacuum power filler is made of titanium to resist ink corrosion.

The Homo Sapiens fountain pen can also be customized with the magnetized MyPen System, such as natural stones, zodiac signs, or initials that you can swap into the finial in place of the Visconti logo coin.

Please note, some images show the pen with the 23kt Palladium nib. This nib is no longer available, the Magma now only comes with the 18kt in house nib.  Some nib options may take 7 - 10 days to ship.
