Great pen, great value.

After seeing this pretty nib on the Ondoro, I was pleased to find it on the Basic, a pen that belies its humble name. The nib is indeed wonderful; I love the dots, and it is now the nicest, best-writing steel EF in my collection. I like the balance of a smooth feel and a neat, clear fine line. The carbon fiber barrel is cool looking and the cap with secure black clip is fine. I write unposted and the pen is the perfect length for that, but posting is easy and secure. The grip section is comfortable, and I would imagine this would be a good pen for a student who does a lot of fast note writing. One thing to note is that removing and replacing the cap takes a bit of an effort. I have developed the habit of nudging the cap partly onto the barrel, which easily creates a sufficient seal for pauses in writing, and then I snap it down fully at the end of a session. Grade: Performance A+ and Value A+. I also got F-C Stone Grey cartridges, and this ink performs perfectly and looks great.
