This is a lovely pen. It easily fits in any pocket which is where mine will be found most days. The nib is very smooth and a real pleasure to put on paper. It is lightweight so if you're looking for some heft you might choose another pen. The look is unique to my collection and that's what drew me to it. It reminds me of fountain pens when I was growing up. I'm happy with it in every way.
"I have mostly European made fountain pens, to wit, Kaweco, Pelikan, Waterman, great pens all. I finally wanted to see what the attraction is for Japanese manufacturers.
The E95S with a 14K gold nib has truly opened my eyes to the attraction of the Orient. Is that politically correct?
At it's price point, I cannot say I have a smoother writing pen. It feels great and looks amazing in the flesh! I love the retro 60's design as much as I love Kaweco's 30's Art Deco Dia FP. While the Dia is a little big for the shirt pocket, the E95S is absolutely perfect.
My only concern is that while I can throw a Kaweco Sport in my pants pocket with itinerant change and keys, I would not even consider doing that with this pen. I am afraid it's body would get beat up too much.
But, I liked this pen so much for it's design, writing characteristics, price with a gold nib, and functionality that I just ordered the black one today. "
