J. Herbin Violette Pensée
Violette Pensée is a clear, bright blue-leaning violet. I was on the fence about getting a sample of this ink because I thought it might be too similar to the tons of purples and violets I already have: I have Waterman Tender Purple, Kaweco Summer Purple, Pilot Iroshizuku Murasaki-Shikibu, Diamine Grape, Lavender, Violet, Majestic Purple, Imperial Purple, Tyrian Purple, Damson, Diamine 150th Anniversary Lilac Night and Purple Dream, J. Herbin Poussière de Lune and Violet Boréal, De Atramentis Aubergine, Taccia Murasaki Purple, P.W. Akkerman #13 Simplisties Violet, Kobe #62 Nunobiki Lavender and #18 Sannomiya Panse, Röhrer and Klingner Cassia, and more. This colour is unique in my collection; nothing comes close to it. Maybe Pilot Iroshizuku Ajisai with some added red—but it’s a stretch. I think it’s a nice, unique and elegant addition. Even though it’s bright, it is calming—especially as I watch it dry—and readable.
