An Excellent Ink in a Problematic Bottle
I have used this ink in two pens to date, one with a Japanese fine nib and one with a 1.5-mm. stub. It has adequate, but somewhat dry, flow, some shading with the stub nib, and a short drying time. It has not feathered on any inexpensive paper on which I have used it. I find the forest-green color appealing. In short, a well-behaved ink.
The bottle is the same short, wide style that Sailor uses for all its inks, with one difference. In the Sailor-branded inks, the bottle has an inkwell which allows one to fill pens even when the ink level is low. This inkwell is missing in the Kobe-branded bottle. In a bottle this short, the ink level will soon be too low for filling from the bottle, making it necessary to decant the ink into a taller, slimmer container. So I would give an A to the ink and a C-minus to the bottle.
