The Sailor 1911 Realo fountain pen features a piston filling mechanism and an ink window that is visible even with the cap on, so that you can see how much ink is available before you take the cap off to use the pen. Based on the Sailor 1911 Large model, this pen holds a generous amount of ink. The smooth writing quality of the wide selection of 21k nibs available for this model is a testament to the 95 years experience in writing instruments. The pen is made of maroon resin with gold-plated trim and comes with your choice of 21k gold nib options, which are Extra-Fine, Fine, Medium, Broad and Music. We try to always keep all nibs in stock at all times, but inventory changes daily.

As an Authorized Sailor Dealer we have the ability to order just about any of the seven standard 21kt nibs (Extra Fine, Fine, Medium Fine, Medium, Broad, Zoom, Music) on any 1911 Realo fountain pen. Some models do not carry all seven nibs and some are special order from Japan. Our stock changes constantly so if you have any questions, please Contact Us for more info!

The Sailor Pen company uses the concepts of RELiance And LOcus, and the first Realo was born in 2006 for the company's 95th Anniversary.

Where have you been all my life?

I've been using pens for over 20 years and this Sailor encompasses all the great things about a fountain pen. 21kt nib (my first) is SMOOTH, and the bonus of a piston filler. The color reminds me of the Montblanc burgundy pens they used to make, but livelier. This is my first Sailor, but definitely not my last!

Great pen. Great service.

I ordered this maroon Sailor 1911 Realo with a music nib. My plan was to send it on to Mike Masuyama to be ground to a crisp cursive italic. He had recommended this nib or a Zoom nib as a good starting point for this grind. I did try the pen before sending it. It wrote very smoothly and had more thick/thin line differentiation than I had expected from reviews I had read. I am eager to see how it writes after Mike has done his magic. I have high expectations!
