Shades and auras beautifully
The first bottle of Sailor Manyo ink I purchased was Haha. It looked so beautiful in the swatches with that blue/pink shift that I had to try it out. If I used it to paint, that might bear out, but in the pen it's a bit watery for me; I find myself pressing harder on the paper in an unconscious effort to get it to be darker... But then I tried the Nekoyanagi and completely fell in love. Despite being curious about naming what seems to be a periwinkle ink for the grey "pussy willow," I can find no fault with it. I use it in a TWSBI Vac-R, broad nib, which allows it to shade and aura beautifully. I journal nearly every day and generally switch colors with each entry, but have filled up eight pages straight so far with Nekoyanagi, with no intention of stopping. Anderson's slight discount on this pricey bottle (MSRP $24) even makes up for the $8 shipping, with my total coming out lower than if I'd purchased elsewhere. I received my shipment within a few days, so delivery time didn't suffer, either. I'll certainly repurchase.
