The TWSBI ECO fountain pen in Clear features a clear acrylic body and clear cap and turning knob, silver trim, a piston ink-filling system, smooth-writing steel nib and a screw-on cap. The TWSBI ECO piston ink-filling system uses only bottled ink and the clear body allows the user to view the level of ink remaining in the pen at all times. The pen cap has an inner cap liner that maintains a thorough seal when the pen is not in use.

The traditional mechanism of the fountain pen, combined with a modern industrial design, embodies both the past and the present. This pen runs about the same in length as the Diamond 580 and is just a tiny bit thinner. One difference between the ECO fountain pen and the other TWSBI pens is that the ECO does not have a removable nib unit, and the barrel and nib unit are all one piece. There will not be separate nib units for this pen.

TWSBI believes that it is important to allow the user to disassemble and reassemble the pen, in order to completely experience the traditional aspects of owning and using a fountain pen. The TWSBI pen packaging includes a wrench and silicone grease.

** Please note that these accessories are not intended to be used immediately, as they are better used for long-term care and maintenance. In addition, please use extra care if you choose to disassemble the nib and feed, as the feed is very fragile, and breakage or cracking could occur.

My first TWSBI

This is the 2nd time I have ordered online at Anderson Pens. The shipping was very fast and the pens are wrapped in a box and bubble wrap to make sure it is not damaged during shipping. The hand written note (Thank you Amanda) was a really nice touch too.
Now let us go to the pen, I have been watching videos and reading reviews of this pen. I was intrigued by the mechanism and the clear body. I finally pulled the trigger and bought 2 -- 1 clear in medium and 1 transparent blue in fine nib. I gave the fine nib to my husband.
We were able to figure out the assembly by going thru the visual guide. I love how the pen writes in my notebook (I have LT1917, Hobonichi cousin, and Galen Leather Tomoe Everyday notebook). It glides and there's no skipping. I guess maybe it depends on the nib size and how "hard" you write on your notebook, I noticed there's a little ghosting in my LT1917. I don't really mind since I am the only one reading my notes. With the current price, I am thinking of buying 2 more of the ECO. I do have Lamy, Kaweco & Pilot Metropolitan but I think this is my new go to/favorite pen. The design is also nice so my next one would probably be purple or the rose gold.

TWSBI ECO FOUNTAIN PEN - CLEAR 1.1 NIB

THIS IS MY FAVORITE FOUNTAIN PEN (I NOW HAVE FOUR), PARTICULARLY BECAUSE OF BEING ABLE TO CHOOSE THE 1.1 NIB...WHICH HAS A WAY OF MAKING MY HANDWRITING LOOK QUITE CLASSY (ESPECIALLY WHEN ADDRESSING ENVELOPES.) THE BUILT-IN PISTON INK-FILLING SYSTEM WORKS BEAUTIFULLY, AND THE INK CAPACITY IS A DECENT VOLUME. I SUPPOSE YOU'D SAY THAT THIS PEN WRITES "WET," BUT THAT'S ONE OF THE THINGS THAT I LIKE ABOUT IT...BECAUSE THE PEN GLIDES EASILY ACROSS THE PAPER. IT COMES NICELY BOXED, THE DIRECTIONS ARE CLEAR, AND THE PRICE IS MORE THAN FAIR.
